Sept 9/10 - Whales & Rhode Island

We rolled into Portland after it was already dark, but we were ready to eat!  We got to our AirBNB, said hello to our hosts, then Uber'ed to the city for some fresh lobster.  We ended up right along the port at the Portland Lobster Co.  We each ordered a full lobster meal, and it was so fresh, that when you cracked the shell, all the meat slid right out!  We ate on the outside deck, and it was a perfect temp, and there was a band too.  We finished our drinks, then walked around the streets a little more.  We hit up a few bars for drinks, then headed home to grab some sleep for our Whale Watching trip the next morning!

We woke up early and drove to Rye Harbor for our trip.  Along the way we grabbed some delicious breakfast (Lobster Eggs Benedict!), then got to the boat just in time.  It was a perfectly sunny day, and the boat was not super packed.  We headed out for our 4 hour trip, and while on the water we saw lots of whales!  They were out far, near the boat, and in sets of two.  We also a shark, sea turtles, and dolphins.  It was a great trip.

When the whale watching was done, our final stop of the weekend was Providence, RI to meet up with some friends.  We got in before the sun went down, and enjoyed a delicious dinner.  They had a little one, so we headed out on the town for some drinks.  We took a cab home and slept in.

On Sunday morning we talked around Providence CBD, all along the river.  We even came across someone crab fishing...she yanked out a crab, then battled it with a net, and finally got it in the bucket.  We also walked around Brown University campus.  We also grabbed brunch at a great farm-to-table spot.  Unfortunately we had a long drive home, so we hopped in car, and drove into the sunset back to Scranton.

We had a lot to talk about!  Were we staying in Scranton?  Were we ready for our Honeymoon?
