Friday was action packed...we got up early to see the Wall Street statues and snap some photos. Then we headed to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. It was a very somber place, but also very important in human history. Unfortunately we didn't even have time to see it all (Note: Crazily, we spoke to Madagascar about our honeymoon & also Nadine verbally accepted her Wilson position at this museum...wow!). We then grabbed dinner at a local spot found by Nadine, then headed over to the Tenement Museum tours. These were homes from the 1900-1930s where immigrants from Europe would come over and live. It was very close to each of family heritages.
We then headed back to our hotel and got ready for dinner & a show! We had tickets for a Broadway show, and were first going to grab a meal at a nearby Italian spot. The meal was delicious after a long day of seeing the city, and the waiter even brought over some desserts to celebrate Ed & Deb's Anniversary! Then we headed to see Book of Mormon! We had great seats and the show was even better. We had a great time laughing and being part of the bright lights! After the show, we walked briefly around Time Square, then headed back for some sleep!
Our final day started with heading up to Harlem for a Free Walking Tour. Again we had a beautiful late September sunny day, and the local tour guide took us all over, teaching us about the history of the neighborhood, and also were the famous were. On the way home we stopped at a few other famous sites...Tom's Restaurant for the Seinfeld fans, and also walked around Central Park. The Park was alive on a Saturday, and there was a concert happening too, so it was fun being with the crowds.
We didn't plan on staying Saturday night in the city, so headed out on the New Jersey Transit back out to where Nadine parked on Thursday. We then drove all the way back to Scranton, and slept in! We lounged together on Sunday, as Monday Ed & Deb headed back to Michigan
