We worked a full day, then went home to pack up all of our stuff. We were debating whether to take two cars or one, not only because of the amount stuff, but also because Dave didn't want to see Nadine in her dress until she walked down the aisle! After much discussion (of course!), we packed all into one car and drove up.
It was a beautiful sunny evening and we had a nice sunset. We had lots of nervous chatter about everything about to happen, but we were ready. We got into Bergen and dropped Nadine's stuff off at her parents house. Then we drove over to Kateland Farms, where Dave's parents Ed & Deb, and sister Tanya (Manny & Nora too) were staying for the weekend.
Ed & Deb had picked up the pizza from Nadine's favorite as a kid (Ralph & Rosies...supposedly Pizza Hut took their sauce from here). We all shared some slices around the table, and Ralph & Olga showed up at the end of meal. As the meal ended, Nadine & Dave shared the plan for the weekend, especially tomorrow. We all had lots of prepping and welcoming to get ready for!
Friday
The weather forecast for the weekend was cloudy and light drizzle, ending Saturday afternoon. Since Friday was a work day, it was good to have a little chill.
Dave awoke early to have a nice breakfast and spend some time with Nora. He joined Tanya & Nora out by the horses in the barn, and Nora saw a cat and kept saying "Oww", as she thought it Oscar the cat near her home (so adorable).
Nadine...at parents house?
We all met at the Barn at 10am to start setting up all the decorations, bring in all the booze, etc. We were a great team, and even Ed showed his inner-interior decorator skills. The time flew by quickly and it was time for Nadine to head into town to for manicure, also her friends were showing up to join her too! Dave & his parents stayed back at the barn and continued to spruce it up. We also put out all of our photos around the table, as a gift to the guests.
4pm quickly came around, and that was the time to head back to get changed. Nadine met us at the farmhouse, and had a huge surprise! She presented me with a true lederhosen from Germany, and she had a matching Drindl! Wow! And this would be our dress for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.
In our German attire, we drove over to Albion for the wedding rehearsal. We showed up fashionably late, and everyone was there, it was great! And everyone loved our outfits. It was great to see all of our friends, family, etc. The rehearsal went off without a hitch, and we all shared lots of laughs. (youtube timelapse)
We then drove back to Brockport for the rehearsal dinner at Fazols. It was a no frills Italian restaurant and everyone filled up on the food and wine. Before starting the meal, there were toasts given by Ralph, Deb, and Olivia Ostrand (many many hot sweaty summers!)
Of course the time flew by, and next it was onto Bill Grays for the welcome party. Everybody invited to the wedding was there, even Tino & Maria from Germany. Everyone was having a great time, and again everyone loved our outfits. We wanted to party all night but we needed to head back for some sleep. We left around 10p, and enjoyed our last night as fiance & fiancee!
